UPDATE - MAY 1, 2026

I’m running for Mayor of Wilmot in the upcoming municipal election.

Over the past term on Council, I’ve approached every decision the same way I have in my professional career, with a focus on facts, accountability, and common sense.

Residents deserve leadership that is clear headed, practical, and grounded in reality. Not politics. Not noise. Just straightforward decision-making based on evidence and what’s in the best interest of the community.

That’s how I’ve operated as a councillor, and it’s exactly how I would lead as Mayor.

My background in the private sector has shaped how I approach problems. You define the issue, gather the facts, weigh the options, and make a decision you can stand behind. Then you stay accountable for the results.

I am prepared to serve the public and ensure residents are getting real value for every tax dollar they contribute. That means asking tough questions, focusing on priorities, and making decisions that are disciplined and defensible.

One area I believe we must continue to improve is transparency. Residents should be able to clearly understand where their money is going and why decisions are being made.

Municipal government should reflect that level of clarity and accountability.

Over the coming months, I’ll be out in the community listening and engaging with residents across Wilmot. I’ll also be sharing a detailed plan later this spring.

Wilmot is a community I’m proud to call home. It deserves steady, honest leadership. I’m ready to take that on.

About Me

I’m Kris Wilkinson, a proud Wilmot resident, father, and your current Ward 2 Township Councillor. I chose to run for Council because I care deeply about this community and believed we could do better, finding efficiencies, making thoughtful decisions, and easing the burden on residents instead of always turning to higher taxes.

In my professional life as a recruiter, I work closely with people every day, listening, understanding challenges, and helping find practical solutions. That same approach guides me on Council, taking the time to hear from residents, asking questions, and working toward decisions that reflect our shared priorities.

Since being elected, I’ve focused on keeping residents informed, improving transparency, and making sure your tax dollars are used wisely. I believe strong communities are built on trust, open communication, and responsible planning for the future.

My family and I live in Baden, and like many of you, we chose Wilmot for its strong sense of community and small-town character. I’m committed to protecting what makes our township special while ensuring we grow in a way that makes sense for everyone.

I’m running to continue listening, working collaboratively, and putting our community first in every decision.
